Newberry County Unveils Crime Mapping Tool
Friday, August 10, 2012

Newberry County, SC (WLTX) - Newberry County is giving residents a better understanding of the types of crimes happening in their neighborhood. They have a new website that maps out the calls dispatched by fire, EMS, and deputies in Newberry County. You can see what types of calls they responded to, and also be able to see registered sex offenders mapped in the system as well. It will also help get word out about emergencies. The sheriff says the mapping system will not show real time responses to crimes, so criminals are not tipped off to where deputies are located; instead, they'll be posted about two hours afterwards.
