Deputies: Man beaten as he enters his own home

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A Richland County man was attacked early Tuesday morning as he entered his Leesburg Road home, according to deputies.

Deputies say when the man entered his home shortly after midnight Tuesday morning he was attacked by another man with a knife. The suspect was already in the house according to the victim.

The two fought and the homeowner was injured. Deputies say 2 phones and the man's wallet were stolen.

After the fight the homeowner was able to make it to a nearby gas station and call 911. Deputies say he was taken to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
