COLUMBIA, SC - Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott hopes the public will call CRIMESTOPPERS with information about an overnight carjacking.

The incident occurred at approximately 1 o’clock in the morning at the intersection of Devine Street and Beltline Boulevard.

The man explains that he and a female passenger were at a red light at the 4400 block of Devine Street when they were approached by two men.

One of the suspects asked for a ride and when the driver refused, both suspects are accused of pointing guns at the victims.

The armed suspects then ordered the victims out of the car, when they did not comply; one suspect allegedly hit the female in the face and head with the gun.

The victims were then forced out of the car. The suspects were last seen driving away in the stolen vehicle.

The injured victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment for her non-life threatening injuries.

Possible Description of Suspects:

The suspects are described as being black males. One suspect was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and red shorts, and may be between the ages of 20-28, with a medium build and weighing 180 pounds.
