COLUMBIA, SC - Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott announces the arrest of a teenager accused of robbing a pizza delivery man and stealing his car.

The 16-year-old suspect was arrested on Monday, July 23, 2012.

He is being charged with Armed Robbery, Criminal Conspiracy, and Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.

The armed robbery occurred on July 10, 2012 at the 200 block of Brook Pines Drive at the Brook Pines Apartment Complex on Broad River Road.

The teen and another suspect are accused of ordering a pizza by phone from a local restaurant and waiting at Brook Pines Apartments for the delivery.

Once the victim arrived at that location in his in vehicle, he tells CPD Investigators that he knocked on the apartment door that the caller mentioned.

Then he says two males wearing masks came to the door. One suspect is accused of pointing a gun at the victim’s head, demanding money and the keys to his car.

The suspects are accused of stealing a small amount of cash, the victim’s vehicle and cell phone, and a box of pizza.

The victim was not physically harmed during the armed robbery.

The victim’s vehicle has been recovered.

CPD has leads on locating the second suspect in this investigation.
