LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - In two weeks, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department in partnership with the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission will conduct a security exposition between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1 at the gymnasium at Seven Oaks Park, 200 Leisure Lane, Columbia. The event, which will be offered free of charge, will provide homeowners and business owners with an opportunity to evaluate security services and products that are offered by local companies.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said Crime Prevention Sgt. Tony Ayers will coordinate the security exposition. During the event, homeowners and business owners can obtain information about alarm systems for businesses, homes and motor vehicles, safes, dead-bolt locks, security cages for air-conditioning units, surveillance camera systems and other security-related services and products.

Citizens and business owners who would like additional information about the security exposition can contact Ayers at (803) 785-9888 or via email at tayers@lcsd.sc.gov, Metts said. There is no fee for businesses to participate as vendors at the event.

The security exposition reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County, Metts said.

If you, or someone you know, have any information regarding any crime, you are encouraged to contact Crimestoppers. You could earn a reward up to $1,000.
