Proactive Traffic Enforcement in West Columbia

West Columbia, SC- The West Columbia Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Division, as a continued effort to ensure highway safety, will be conducting numerous proactive enforcement initiatives throughout the month of July and August.

The Traffic Enforcement Division will be taking a proactive stance in an effort to ensure that the motoring public has a safe-driving mentality. The Traffic Enforcement Division will be conducting aggressive enforcement of South Carolina’s passenger safety laws, speeding, and other aspects of aggressive driving.

Driving under the influence (DUI) saturation patrols will be conducted in varying intervals throughout the City. During these patrols, the principal focus will be placed on driving under the influence, however, strict enforcement of any and all traffic violations will be in place.

The ultimate goal of the West Columbia Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Division is to save lives, reduce personal injury, and property damage brought about as a result of alcohol related crashed and other violations.
