Jerry Starnes of Saluda County Reported Missing
Friday, July 13, 2012

Saluda County, SC (WLTX) - Saluda County deputies are searching for a 75-year-old man who was reported missing. Jerry Walter Starnes hasn't been seen since June 28. Starnes lived alone, deputies say, and it's difficult to say exactly at what time he left his home or what he may have been doing at the time. Officers say while he most likely left on foot, he may have hitchhiked or caught a ride with someone to an unknown location. Starnes is originally from Woodruff, and apparently had mentioned leaving the Saluda area. Starnes is 5'7" tall and weighs 165 pounds. Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC, or e-mail a tip in to Crimestoppers of the Midlands. You can also text information in by texting "TIPSC" plus your message to CRIMES (274637). Either way you choose, your identity will remain anonymous, and you could be eligible for a cash reward.
