Deputies arrest man on 2 murder charges
Monday, July 2, 2012

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Richland County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man wanted for an incident that killed two people and injured another.

The County Fugitive Task Force caught up with William Wallace Thursday afternoon at Bush River Rd. and I-26.

Wallace is charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. Investigators say more charges may be filed. He is held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Deputies say just before noon Thursday, a driver flagged down a sheriff's deputy on patrol at Beckham Swamp and Bluff Roads. The driver found a 24-year-old woman severely injured.

The woman was taken to the hospital where her condition is not known.

She told investigators that two gunshot victims may be found inside an apartment in the 8100 block of Garners Ferry Road. Deputies checked the apartment and found two men with gunshot wounds to the torso. They were taken to the hospital where they died.

Investigators anticipate making more arrests in this case. If you know anything that can help, call Crimestoppers at 1-888-Crime-SC.
