Suspect Charged With Cutting His Girlfriend

Lancaster, SC – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged Willie James Stevens (B/M DOB:08/03/1982 Address: 1331 Spanish Villa Apt. B, Lancaster) with Assault and Battery High and Aggravated following a domestic related assault in Kershaw.

On 06/20/2012 at approximately 8:30 pm Deputies were dispatched to 6532 Cleveland St. in Kershaw for a report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival a female victim and several witnesses were found on scene.

The female victim stated that on today’s date she advised Stevens that she did not wish to continue their relationship. The female victim stated that Stevens assaulted her and she attempted to run away from him.

The female victim stated that Stevens chased her and pulled her to the ground where he then used a knife to cut her face. Stevens then fled the scene.

Responding Deputies were able to locate and arrest Stevens in a field near Fork Hill Rd.
Stevens was transported to the Detention Center and jailed. The victim was treated on scene by EMS. Stevens is being held on a $100,000 Surety Bond.
