Repeat Offender Caught in the Act
Saturday, June 30, 2012

Lancaster, SC – During the early morning hours of 06/28/2012 a Sheriff’s Deputy was on routine patrol in the area of Hwy 200 south when he observed a suspicious vehicle leaving the Flea Market located at 1501 Great Falls Hwy. After the Deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle the driver and lone occupant was identified as John Allen Hill (W/M DOB:06/09/1980 Address: 1559 Springdale Rd. Lancaster). During the investigation deputies located refrigeration units and fans that were determined to be stolen from the Flea Market. Deputies also located numerous hand tools to include a hacksaw and pipe cutters. The stolen property was valued at over $2,000 by the victim.

Hill was arrested and has been charged with Grand Larceny (3rd or subsequent property offense) and Possession of Burglary Tools. Hill was jailed at the Lancaster County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing. Hill was recently released (06/01/2012) from the Detention Center after posting bond on a Burglary 3rd charge following his arrest on April 2nd, 2012.

Sheriff Faile said, “Repeat offenders like Hill are the majority of our problems. It’s good to get him back in jail. Our Deputy’s alert and attentive dedication to his duty has paid off. Job well done.”
