Tuesday, June 19, 2012

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia Police Officers say a shooting occured around 2:00am Sunday morning at 803 Hookah Bar & Lounge on 919 Sumter St.

Witnesses say two groups of people were involved in a physical altercation inside the lounge. According to officers, security kicked the parties out of the establishment after an unknown male suspect broke a beer bottle over the victim's head.

Once outside, officials say the male suspect fired several shots into the crowd, hitting the same victim in the calf.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He has since been released.

Police are still investigating the incident and what led to the altercation.

The shooter is described as a black male with a "mini afro." He was last seen wearing a green shirt with a big, white letter "L" on the front and white Air Force One Nike tennis shoes.

Officials say the shooter should be considered armed and dangerous.
