Missing Man Found at Local Hospital
Thursday, June 7, 2012

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police say they've found a missing man, and he is safe.

Officers say they found 50-year-old Charles Kendall Reed at a local hospital.

Reed hadn't been seen since Memorial Day, and his family was concerned because he has communication challengers.

It turns out Reed was in the hospital receiving treatment for a head injury. When paramedics took him to the hospital, he did not have any identification and was unable to communicate with the hospital staff. Reed was admitted as a "John Doe."

A nurse saw Reed's picture on television and recognized him as one of the hospital's patients. She then called police, who they confirmed his identity.

Reed is currently receiving medical attention in the intensive care unit at the hospital.
