SUSPECT ACCUSED OF ROBBING AND KIDNAPPING ELDERLY COUPLE; BURGLARIZING HOME
Wednesday, May 16, 2012

COLUMBIA, SC - Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott is releasing a picture of a suspect wanted in connection to a home burglary, and the armed robbery and kidnapping of an elderly couple last week.

The incidents occurred on Thursday, May 10, 2012 shortly after 2:00 p.m.

CPD Investigators want to locate 19-year-old John Brandon Foster (DOB: 9/1/1992) and at least two unidentified suspects.

Foster and the other suspects are accused of approaching an 87-year-old man outside of his home on Koon Road, then forcing their way inside.

Once the suspects gained entry, they are accused of making verbal death threats to the man and his 84-year-old wife, pointing guns at them, and forcing the couple to lie on the ground.

The female victim tells CPD Investigators that she tried to fight off the men with her cane.

When asked for money from the elderly female, one of the suspects is accused of hitting her in the head with a gun, causing a laceration.

The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.

The suspects allegedly stole several items including a wallet and purse, electronics, jewelry, and guns.

Several of the stolen goods were recovered at a home on Koon Road and taken into evidence as part of the investigation.

Foster is considered armed and dangerous. His last known address is 1104 Woodale Circle in Columbia.
