Deputies: Female jogger robbed near dam
Wednesday, May 9, 2012

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - Deputies are searching for a suspect they say robbed a female jogger near a dam on April 29, according to sheriff’s deputies.

According to a Lexington County Sheriff’s Department incident report, around 8:30 p.m. officers responded to a strong arm robbery call at 2101 North Lake Drive on the Irmo side of the dam.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the 20-year-old victim who stated that she parked her car on the Irmo side of the dam and went for a run, the report stated. The jogger said when she finished running she went to the restroom and then began to walk to her car.

When the woman approached her vehicle, a man came up to her demanding cash, the report stated.

The victim gave the suspect the money and he advised the victim to stay in her vehicle until he was gone, according to sheriff’s deputies.

The victim said the man fled the scene in a small white Isuzu truck.

According to the report, the suspect is described as six feet tall, medium build, wearing blue jeans and a black t-shirt with brown shaggy hair and a full beard.
