LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department will conduct a book sale between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, May 18 and between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 at the Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington. All proceeds from the event will benefit the United Way Campaign.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said Volunteer Coordinator Liz Wright will coordinate the book sale for the Sheriff’s Department. Citizens who have questions concerning the book sale can contact Wright via email at lwright@lcsd.sc.gov or contact Wright by calling the Sheriff’s Department Front Desk at (803) 785-2400.

All hard-cover books and soft-cover books will be sold at a cost of $1 each, Metts said. The sheriff encourages citizens to attend the book sale.

Citizens can bring books that they wish to donate for the book sale to the Front Desk at the county Law Enforcement Complex, Metts said. All varieties of books will be accepted for the book sale.

The book sale is part of an on-going campaign by the Sheriff’s Department and Lexington County government to raise money for United Way of the Midlands, Metts said. The book sale reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County.

If you, or someone you know, have any information regarding any crime, you are encouraged to contact Crimestoppers. You could earn a reward up to $1,000.
