20 pounds of cocaine seized in Kershaw County
Wednesday, May 2, 2012

KERSHAW COUNTY, SC - Nearly 20 pounds of high-grade cocaine were seized during a drug bust in Kershaw County Sunday.

Kershaw County narcotics officers and agents from both the State Law Enforcement Division and Drug Enforcement Administration seized the drugs at an undisclosed east of Camden following a 2-month investigation, Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said. Investigators previously seized an additional kilogram of cocaine in the investigation.

Once diluted, the cocaine seized could fetch as much as $3 million on the streets, Matthews said. Investigators believe the location was a supply center for drugs throughout the southeast.

Three people were arrested in the bust, but their names are not being released pending ongoing investigation, Matthews said.
