13-year-old killed in Orangeburg Co. shooting

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A young teenager after being shot on Monday night somewhere in Orangeburg County.

Keisa Gunby, spokesperson with the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Department, sent WIS a press release announcing a press conference this afternoon to talk about the shooting, but would not release any other details.

"No additional details on the fatal shooting on Monday night will be available until the press conference," wrote Gunby.

According to Orangeburg County Coroner Samuetta Marshall, the 13-year-old victim died at the hospital from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The press conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Orangeburg County Law Enforcement Complex on Ellis Ave.
