West Columbia Police Call Project Sticker Shock A Success
Wednesday, April 25, 2012

West Columbia, SC – The West Columbia Police Department and the Lexington District Two Rise Above It Community Drug Free Coalition were busy last week ensuring the word got out that it is illegal to purchase or provide alcohol to anyone under the age of 21.

Chief Dennis Tyndall stated that the brightly colored stickers were placed at seven large grocery stores – 4 Bi-lo stores an 3 Food Lions. Five thousand “Sticker Shock” hangers were placed on wine bottles and five thousand stickers were put on beer cases. The group also distributed educational materials. The goal is to bring awareness to the issue as prom season approaches.
