Sheriff: Burglars steal $150 worth of cigarettes
Wednesday, April 18, 2012

LEXINGTON, SC - The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the community’s assistance in locating suspects involved in a burglary.

According to an incident report, around 2:30 a.m. deputies responded to an alarm activation call at Sand Mountain Grocery located on Fish Hatchery Road in Gaston on Friday.

Upon arrival, deputies observed the front door pried open at the base and the lock broken. Deputies say in order for officers to gain entry into the business, they had to use a pry bar.

Once inside, officers determined money and $150 worth of Newport cigarettes were taken.

Deputies say one suspect was dressed in all black carrying a green bag and a sledge hammer and the other was wearing dark pants and a gray long sleeve short.
