Friday, April 27, 2012

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for sexually assaulting an 88-year-old Columbia woman.

Anthony Kelley, 27, pleaded guilty to charges of burglary first degree, criminal sexual conduct first degree, grand larceny, five counts of assault and battery first degree, failure to stop for a blue light, two counts of hit and run and resisting arrest.

His brother, 24-year-old William Kelley, pleaded guilty to charges of burglary first degree, grand larceny, and resisting arrest. He got a 15-year-sentence.

Prosecutors say the men broke into the victim's home on May 5, 2011. After the sexual assault, police say the men stole the car and several other items from the home.

The pair were captured by law enforcement after they wrecked the stolen vehicle into three police cars and attempted to run away.
