Shooting victim collapses in front of police, 2 suspects wanted
Monday, March 19, 2012

CLARENDON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office is looking for two men in connection with a shooting Saturday night.

Sheriff Randy Garrett says 42-year-old Astatio Porres was shot in the head on Washington Street near Summerton at about 8:45 pm Saturday. Porres is at MUSC hospital in stable condition.

Deputies are looking for two suspects, Terrell Lawson and Lorenzo Ragin. Investigators say Porres knows the men.

Sheriff Garrett says after Porres was shot, he managed to get into his car and drive into Summerton. The suspects followed him. Porres spotted a Summerton Police officer and collapsed nearby.

When a crowd gathered, the suspects were in the crowd but the officer did not know. The officer called for backup and Ragin and Lawson left the scene before more police arrived.

Sheriff Garrett says about two hours later, the suspects broke into Tamara Brown's home on Silver Road, in Silver. Brown was beaten and robbed.

Garrett says they stole Brown's cell phone, money and an SUV, which was found Sunday afternoon in Summerton.

If anyone has any information on Lawson and Ragin's whereabouts, call 1-888-Crime-SC.
