Thursday, March 8, 2012

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Richland County EMS transported six patients to the hospital following an incident with a suspicious package Wednesday morning at a Department of Corrections facility.

A Corrections Department spokesperson says the incident happened at the Watkins Pre-Release Center on St. Andrews Terrace Road.

The spokesperson says a woman opened the package and had some sort of reaction to a white substance in it.

All six taken to the hospital do not have serious injuries.

The Columbia- Richland Fire Department, along with the State Law Enforcement Division and the FBI are trying to determine what was in the package.
