West Columbia Police Department Honors Employees

West Columbia, SC – The West Columbia Police Department held its annual Employee Appreciation Banquet on Friday night, February 3rd. The event, sponsored by the West Columbia Police Officers Foundation, recognizes officers and civilian employees for their accomplishments during the preceding year.

Chief Dennis Tyndall presented the Department’s Integrity Award to Sergeant John Dollar. Sgt. Dollar is in charge of the Records Section of the Police Department. The Civilian Employee of the Year went to Nanci Cirmella who serves as the Administrative Coordinator. Chief Tyndall presented the Officer of the Year award to Detective David Myers who is the agency’s Juvenile/Gang Investigator. Myers was also honored with a Lifesaving Ribbon for a recent event in which he saved a man at a local restaurant who was choking. Myers performed the Heimlich maneuver and dislodged the obstruction.

Chief Tyndall stated, “We are so proud of all of our employees. They serve the citizens of West Columbia with commitment and professionalism every day, and we are happy to have this opportunity to recognize their dedication and a job well done!”
