Suspect Charged in Attempted Bank Robbery‏

Lancaster, SC – On Tuesday February 21, 2012 the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office charged Glenn Stewart Howie in connection with the attempted Bank Robbery at the TD Bank on Charlotte Hwy in Indian Land. Howie was arrested last week after a joint investigation between the FBI, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Dept., Union County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office identified him as a suspect in three local bank robberies. Howie was arrested in North Carolina and charged with the two bank robberies that recently occurred in the Ballyntine Area.

Howie is currently jailed at the Mecklenburg County Detention Center. He is also awaiting extradition to South Carolina regarding the incident in Indian Land.

Sheriff Faile, “We are pleased that all of the agencies involved were able to work together to get this individual behind bars before he was able to hurt someone. Job well done.”
