Sheriff's office release images of unidentified man’s clothing
Wednesday, February 8, 2012

ORANGEBURG, SC - The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the community’s assistance and identifying clothing that was worn by a male whose remains were found in a wooded area.

According to Sheriff Leroy Ravenell, the office has released the images of the jacket and basketball shorts that were worn by a man whose remains were found in a wooded area off Five Chop Road on January 28.

“We believe this individual is between 17 and 21 years-old and was between 5’7” and 5’9”, said Ravenell. “He was wearing what we believe is a distinctive jacket, black sweat pants, basketball shorts that were worn under the sweat pants, and camel Timberland boots. We are releasing the photos of the John Blaze jacket that had lettering around the hood “Cash Rules Everything Around Me” and basketball shorts in an effort to generate new leads as to the individual’s identity.”

Ravenell concludes “We have been in contact with several agencies across the state as well as passing along the information we have to out-of-state agencies, so far we have not matched our victim with any existing missing person reports. It is imperative that anyone who recognizes these clothing items that were worn by a person that has not been heard from in several months to contact us so we can continue our investigation into how this man came to be in Orangeburg County.”

If you have any information that can help identify the unknown male, you are urged to contact Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
