LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies are working in partnership with Glenforest School Head Basketball Coach William Knopf to collect new pairs of children’s athletic shoes that will be donated to Samaritan’s Feet, a non-profit organization that provides shoes to children worldwide who are in need of assistance. Children’s shoes can be donated to the Sheriff’s Department through Monday, March 5 as part of the Barefoot for Bare Feet Movement.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said citizens can donate new pairs of children’s athletic shoes at the following Sheriff’s Department facilities:

* North Region Service Center, 111 Lincreek Drive, Columbia

* South Region Service Center, 102 Airport Road, Pelion

* West Region Headquarters, 4079-B Augusta Highway, Gilbert

Code Enforcement Officer Ty Haigler is coordinating the participation of the Sheriff’s Department in the shoe drive for Samaritan’s Feet, Metts said.
