Woman killed in early morning shooting

KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A woman is dead after an early morning shooting in Elgin.

Kershaw County Coroner Johnny Fellers said a woman was shot around 3:00 a.m. on Smyrna Church Rd. Fellers says the woman was flown to Palmetto Health Richland where she died from the gunshot wounds shortly before 6:00 a.m.

According to Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews, two women got into an argument and one shot the other. The victim was hit in the chest.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.

The shooter is being interview by deputies, but has not been arrested.
