Man arrested in fatal shooting at Olive Garden
Friday, January 20, 2012

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Columbia Police officers have arrested a man they say shot a man outside of the Olive Garden on Harbison Boulevard back on Dec. 29.

Officers say 20-year-old Gonzales Wardlaw was charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Investigators believe Wardlaw shot 21-year-old Thomas T. Hoefer in the parking lot of the restaurant around 9:00pm. Hoefer was at the restaurant eating dinner with his family at the time of the incident.

Officials say Wardlaw and Hoefer may have been acquaintances.

A motive for the murder has not yet been established.
