Monday, January 30, 2012

ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS) - Investigators with the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office are trying to identify a man whose body was found by a hunter Saturday morning.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says the body was found in a wooded area off Five Chop Road in Orangeburg.

Sheriff Ravenell says the African-American man's body was so badly decomposed that he could not be identified through an autopsy.

Investigators plan to contact other law enforcement agencies to try to identify the man and determine how his body ended up in Orangeburg County.
