Deputies arrest gunman who continued to shoot man while down

ORANGEBURG, SC - Deputies arrested a man they say was involved in a shooting on Christmas day.

According to the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office, Devon Thomas was arrested in Orangeburg County Wednesday night without incident.

According to deputies, the 38-year-old male victim and a female friend drove to an Arlington Drive store in North on December 25. When the pair arrived, the victim walked over to a car that had pulled up.

Deputies say that’s when Devon Tremain Thomas shot at the victim and continued to fire at him after he had fallen to the ground.

The victim is still undergoing medical treatment and is listed in stable condition.

Thomas is being charged with attempted murder.
