Stabbing at Pre-Game Tailgate Outside Williams-Brice Stadium

Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Deputies are investigating a pre-game stabbing outside Williams-Brice Stadium Saturday.

Deputies say they got a call of an assault at Bluff Road and Hemlock Road around 6:30 p.m.

Officers say the victim got into a verbal fight with a suspect about moving barricades at a tailgating spot for the USC game. According to investigators, the victim and the suspect got into a physical fight, and then a second suspect joined in. Deputies say one of the suspects hit the victim in the face with his fist, and the victim was stabbed in the chest as well.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Deputies have not identified the suspects yet.
