Police investigating death at gas station
Monday, November 28, 2011

COLUMBIA, SC - Columbia police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a car parked at a gas station at 4452 Devine St., near Fort Jackson Boulevard.

Police spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons says officers found the body late Friday night after receiving a 911 call about a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Pitt Stop convenience store.

Officers arriving at the scene found a man's dead body inside the vehicle.

The Richland County Coroner's Office was expected to perform an autopsy on the body Saturday to help determine the cause of death.
