Coroner: Death Outside Gas Station was Homicide
Monday, November 28, 2011

Richland County, SC (WLTX) - The Richland County Coroner's office now says the death of a man found outside a gas station late last week was a homicide.

Coroner Gary Watts identifies the victim as Otis L. Williams Jr. of Orangeburg.

Williams was found dead in a pickup truck outside the Pitt Stop gas station at 4452 Devine Street last Friday.

The coroner says an autopsy performed shows that the victim died from complications of gunshot wounds.

Columbia police say they found what are believed to be narcotics inside the vehicle. The items are being analyzed to determine exactly what they are.

The Columbia Police Department continues to investigate.
