Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested
Tuesday, November 22, 2011

Richland County, SC (WLTX) -- Deputies arrested a man they say shot another man in the lower body several times during the morning of Oct. 21.

Richland County Sheriff's deputies arrested 23-year-old Paris Lee Alexander and charged him with attempted murder. Officials believe Alexander may be connected to a number of crimes that began in January.

Investigators say at about 2:20 a.m., deputies responded to a call of shots fired at the Waffle House at 7505 Two Notch Road. That's where they found Alexander, and they were able to determine that he had shot another person in the lower body. That victim was taken to the Palmetto Health Richland.

Deputies say the shooting stemmed from a previous incident at Sunset Place Club on Two Notch.

Also, deputies believe Alexander was connected to an incident on Jan. 6, where a woman was shot while placed her grandchild in a car seat, because Alexander had a dispute with another of the woman's grandchildren.

"He's a small time hoodlum who thought he was a leader," said Sheriff Leon Lott in a written statment. "He used intimidation and threatened people."

On April 27, deputies say a woman was beaten up by Alexander at a gas station, and on Sept. 4, two people were assaulted by 15 or more people, and Alexander was said to be a member of the lynching suspects.

Investigators say Alexander was a gang member, and each incident was connected to his identity in the gang. Officials are asking that if you believe you were a victim of Alexander, that you should come forward and help deputies with their investigation.
