West Columbia Police Seize 20 Pounds of Marijuana

West Columbia, SC (WLTX) - West Columbia police have seized 20 pounds of marijuana and arrested two men in connection with the discovery.

Officers say on Monday, they got a call of a possible burglary in progress around 3 p.m. at an apartment on Abberly Village.

Police say when they arrived, they found a man leaving the apartment. Investigators say when they detained him, the located 20 pounds of marijuana.

Officers have identified the man as 30-year-old Clarence Demond Benjamin of Holly Hill. He's been charged with trafficking marijuana.

Police say a smaller amount of marijuana was found in the apartment. A resident who lived there, 32-year-old John Curtis Robinson Jr., was charged with simple possession of marijuana.
