Deputies: Man Hasn't Been Seen Since Sunday
Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Newberry County, SC (WLTX) - Newberry County deputies are searching for a man they say hasn't been seen since Sunday afternoon.

Russell L. Sandlin, 61, of Prosperity was last seen by his neighbors getting into a boat on Lake Murray with his dog.

Deputies say he was first reported missing by his co-workers, who called them when he failed to show up for a work meeting and didn't answer his phone.

Authorities say that based on their investigation thus far there does not appear to be any foul play associated with the missing man.

Sandlin is 5'7" tall and weighs 185 pounds. He has grey hair and green eyes. The dog's name is Sadie and is a Weimaraner that is grey in color and weighs about 60 pounds. They were last seen in a blue/grey colored bass boat.

Officers from the Newberry County Sheriff's Office are in the area and the Department of Natural Resources is assisting in the search.

Anyone with any contact or information about Sandlin is being asked to contact the Newberry County Sheriff's Office at (803) 321-2222, or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
