Columbia cab driver shot, two suspects on the loose

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Someone shot a Blue Ribbon cab driver over the weekend, and Columbia police are asking for information that will lead them to a suspect.

Chief Randy Scott said the shooting occurred around 2:00am Sunday at the Ames Manor Apartments located at 5779 Ames Road.

The 22-year-old victim told investigators he picked up two men on Harden Street and drove them to the Ames Manor Apartments. As one of the suspects got out of the cab on Ames Road, the driver said the other man pulled out a gun and shot him in the back.

After the shooting, the cab driver drove himself to the hospital. At last check, he was in stable condition.
