Sheriff and Community search for suspects in connection with shooting of 72 year old man

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC - Sheriff Leon Lott states that on September 18, 2011 a 72 year old man was in the kitchen of his home when several shots came through the door striking him in the upper body.

Sheriff Leon Lott states that investigators have determined that two suspects approached the house, around 10:30 PM, and knocked on the door. Investigators have received information that that the suspects went to the home to rob one of the residents. The Sheriff added that when no one opened the door, the suspects fired bullets through the door sending the 72 year old man to the hospital; where he remains in serious condition.

Sheriff Leon Lott states that the incident took place at 301 Saddlefield Road in the Lincolnshire community.

The Sheriff is asking that anyone with information on the identity of those responsible should call, email or text your anonymous tip to Midlands Crimestoppers.
