Deputies: Convicted Drug Dealer Arrested for Trafficking Crack Cocaine
Tuesday, September 13, 2011

Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - The Lexington County Multi-agency Narcotics Enforcement Team met Thursday to arrest a 34-year-old West Columbia man for trafficking crack cocaine.

Deputies said Jamie Shannon Walker was recently released from a South Carolina prison for serving time for trafficking crack cocaine.

Deputies said they began conducting an investigation on Walker in July.

During the course of the undercover drug investigation, the team found that Walker had sold more than one ounce of crack cocaine, according to authorities.

Deputies said Walker made arrangements to sell an ounce of crack cocaine Thursday.

When they saw Walker pull into a parking lot in a white GMC Yukon to make the exchange, deputies said they approached his vehicle. Deputies said Walker got out of his vehicle and began running. The investigation team caught up with him at a local business where they arrested him around 5:30 on Thursday.

Deputies said Walker is charged with his 3rd offense trafficking crack cocaine, 2nd offense driving with a suspended license, and resisting arrest.

They found one ounce crack cocaine, $524, 2 cell phones, and digital scales after searching the vehicle, according to deputies.

Deputies said Walker had been previously arrested in Lexington County in December 1999, March 2000, July 2004, and December 2004.

Walker is at The Lexington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
