Arrest made in String of Burglaries and Larcenies

Lancaster, SC (September 16, 2011) – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged William James Blakeney (B/M DOB: 12/06/1985) of 4000 Alee Ln. Lancaster, SC with two counts of Burglary 2nd Degree and one count of Breaking and Entering in an Automobile.

Blakeney is charged with breaking into a barn located at 6211 Shiloh Unity Rd. in Lancaster and stealing drop cords that contained copper wiring along with other property. Blakeney then sold that property to a salvage yard in Pageland, SC. This incident occurred between Aug. 23rd and Aug. 24th.

Blakeney is also charged with breaking into a storage building at 5536 Tabernacle Rd. in Lancaster. Blakeney stole miscellaneous tools, an air compressor, and a battery charger from the storage building. This incident occurred between Aug. 24th and Aug. 25th.

Blakeney is also charged with breaking and entering into an automobile after stealing tools from a work van located at 6051 Shiloh Unity Rd. Lancaster, SC on Sept. 2nd.

Sheriff Faile said, “This is a great example of how information from the community along with the information and evidence obtained by our officers can fall into place and allow us to get offenders like, Blakeney, off the street.”

Blakeney is currently being held at the Lancaster County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
