Burglary Suspect Arrested After Pursuit, Deputies Say
Tuesday, August 2, 2011

Richland County, SC (WLTX) -- Deputies have arrested a 21-year-old man they say stole a car from Lexington County and would not stop for authorities.

Investigators with the Richland County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday morning that deputies responded to a reported burglary at In Tha Hood Fashions on Broad River Road. Deputies said they noticed a stolen Silver Chevrolet driven by Nicholas Veal. According to authorities, the vehicle did not have its lights on, and deputies tried to stop the vehicle before it sped away.

According to authorities, the Chevrolet wrecked near Arrow Road and Lewand Drive.

Investigators believe that Veal did not act alone, and the deputies expect to make more arrests in the case.

Veal was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. After that, he was arrested, charged with burglary and failure to stop for blue lights and trespassing, before being taken to jail.
