VETERAN OFFICERS PROMOTED

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts promoted three veteran Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies to serve as road patrol supervisors and one veteran investigator to serve as a supervisor for detectives who investigate property crimes.

Metts promoted Billy Laney, 41, of Columbia, to the rank of sergeant and assigned Laney to work as a road patrol supervisor in the South Region Patrol District, which is based in Pelion. The sheriff hired Laney on November 21, 1994. Laney previously worked as an investigator on the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET).

Metts promoted Marty Longshore, 35, of Gilbert, to the rank of sergeant and assigned Longshore to work as a road patrol supervisor in the West Region Patrol District, which is based near Gilbert. The sheriff hired Longshore on September 17, 2001. Longshore previously worked as a detective in the Major Crimes Unit.

Metts promoted William Bradley “Brad” White, Jr., 34, of West Columbia, to the rank of sergeant and assigned White to work as a road patrol supervisor in the North Region Patrol District, which is based near Irmo. The sheriff hired White on August 14, 2006. White previously worked as a master deputy, assigned to road patrol duty in the North Region Patrol District.

In addition, Metts promoted Ed Prestigiacomo, 45, of West Columbia, to the rank of sergeant and assigned Prestigiacomo to work as a supervisor for detectives who investigate property crimes in the South Region Patrol District. The sheriff hired Prestigiacomo on February 3, 2003. Prestigiacomo previously worked as a detective in the Major Crimes Unit.

Metts also promoted Christopher Lee, 41, of Chapin to the rank of master deputy and assigned Lee to work as a shift supervisor in the Warrant Division. The sheriff hired Lee on December 3, 2007. Lee previously worked as a field training officer in the Warrant Division.

In addition, Metts promoted Byron Snellgrove, 46, of Cayce, to the rank of master deputy and assigned Snellgrove to work as a shift supervisor in the Warrant Division. The sheriff hired Snellgrove on October 22, 2001. Snellgrove previously worked as a deputy in the Warrant Division.

Metts also promoted Randall Marvin “Randy” Pfannenstiel, 52, of Chapin, to serve as a victim assistance officer in the Major Crimes Unit. The sheriff hired Pfannenstiel on May 5, 2003. Pfannenstiel previously worked as a deputy in the Warrant Division.
