RCSD seeks possible sex assault victims: suspect behind bars.
Saturday, July 30, 2011

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) - Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is asking possible victims of Robert Gilchrist to come forward. Gilchrist is charged with assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct-first degree and kidnapping.

Sheriff Lott says Gilchrist would obtain nude pictures of high school age girls and use them to coerce the girls into doing sexual favors for him.

According to the sheriff, Gilchrist showed up at a young woman's home Tuesday and attempted to sexually assault her. She escaped and called authorities. Sheriff Lott asks anyone who may be a victim of Gilchrist’s to call CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
