Lexington County Sheriff's Office Blood Drive
Tuesday, July 19, 2011

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - In one week, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department will conduct a blood drive in cooperation with the South Carolina chapter of the American Red Cross. The blood drive will be conducted between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26 in the Squad Room at the Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts encourages citizens to participate in the blood drive. Citizens who would like to schedule an appointment for the blood drive can contact Beth Harmon with the Sheriff’s Department at (803) 785-2593.

“The American Red Cross is in need of your help. The Red Cross is experiencing a critical blood shortage across the country,” Metts said. “Patients are depending on you to roll up your sleeves and make an appointment to give blood.”

The Sheriff’s Department regularly conducts blood drives in cooperation with the American Red Cross, Metts said. Since 2006, blood drives that the Sheriff’s Department conducted resulted in the donation of a total of 1,088 units of blood to the American Red Cross.

Blood drives reflect the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County, Metts said.

If you, or someone you know, have any information regarding any crime, you are encouraged to contact Crimestoppers. You could earn a reward up to $1,000.
