Deputies: Trio Targets Older Shoppers
Wednesday, July 20, 2011

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. - Spartanburg deputies are looking for two women and a man who they say have teamed up to rob older women while they are shopping.

Deputies said that on June 28, the trio was caught on camera at the Sam’s Club on Peachwood Centre Drive. Investigators said that one woman distracted the victim while the man stole a wallet from the victim’s purse. The other woman acted as a lookout, deputies said.

Deputies said the same threesome stole from a woman at a Target store on Warren Abernathy Highway on June 29.

In both cases, the thieves used the stolen credit cards to buy gift cards.

Anyone with information about these thefts is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
