400 pounds of copper, truck stolen from Rock Hill shop
Tuesday, July 12, 2011

ROCK HILL, SC - Someone stole more than 400 pounds of copper and damaged several welding machines at a Rock Hill business sometime last week.

An employee said when he arrived at Paddock Pools he noticed the front gate was open and the chain was missing, according to a Rock Hill police report. The rear garage was also open, and the lock was sitting on the side. Bolt cutters were found on a desk, and the fence inside the garage was cut.

Eight welding machines were damaged, and 400 pounds of copper had been taken from the machines, the report states. The copper is valued at $6,100. Damage to the machines is about $1,200. The suspects also stole a 2000 Ford pick-up from the parking lot.
It appears the suspects attempted to leave the business through the rear, but the car got stuck in the mud, the report states. The suspects had to drive back and forth until they got out of the mud.

This is the second robbery from the business in a month.
