Thieves steal $21k in A/C units from church

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – A Columbia church was hit for over $21,000 worth of damage after thieves stole three air-conditioning units, according to a Columbia Police report.
The report says the incident happened at Jehovah Baptist Church in the overnight hours of May 27. A representative from the church told investigators that someone came during the night and stole three A/C units. The church member said each unit is worth approximately $7,000. The thieves also took two copper lids valued at about $25 each.

Jehovah Baptist Church is located on Frye St. near North Main St. The report also says a neighboring business was a victim of copper theft that same night.
