Hotel Robbed at Gunpoint Early Friday Morning
Monday, June 6, 2011

Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies are searching for a suspect they say robbed a hotel in Northeast Columbia.

Officers say around 4:38 a.m., a suspect entered the Comfort Inn and Suites located at 1540 Daulton Drive. The victim states the suspect entered the store pretending to be interested in a room, pulled out a black revolver, and pointed it at the victim.

After getting money from the register, the suspect left the store.

The suspect is said to be 5 feet 9 inches tall with a slim build, approximately 150 pounds, wearing a white baggy t-shirt, black gym shorts, a dark bandana around his neck, and black shoes.

Sheriff Leon Lott says that because this robbery is near the site of a fatal attempted robbery at a Papa John's Pizza restaurant, investigators are reviewing details of both incidents and following leads.
