Deputies: Woman stabs man in the chest with an ice pick

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Two people were injured and taken to the hospital Saturday evening after an fight in Eastover.

It happened in the 1,100 block of Hezekiah Road, just off Garners Ferry Road.

Richland County deputies said a man and a woman were having a domestic dispute in front of a group. That's when they said 56-year-old Mary Ann Weston chased after the woman with an ice pick. She ended up stabbing the man in the upper body, according to deputies, when he stepped in front of the woman who was being chased. They said he then shot Weston in the leg.

Both received non life-threatening injuries.

Weston was charged with domestic violence of a high aggravated nature against the male. She was also charged with assault and battery of a high aggravated nature against the woman. She's being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Deputies said the man has not been charged with anything at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.
