Tuesday, June 7, 2011

Richland County, SC (WLTX) -- Deputies are searching for those responsible for taking about $200 worth of cigarettes from the Save-A-Ton convenience store on May 19.

Investigators with the Richland County Sheriff's Department say the burglary happened at about 5:30 a.m. at the store located on Wilson Boulevard. Deputies responded to an alarm at the store, and found that the building's rear door was damaged.

Deputies say video surveillance recorded the suspects as they stole items from the business. It's not clear what else the suspects took besides cigarettes.

If you can help investigators find the suspects, you are urged to call CrimeStoppers of the Midlands at 1-888-CRIME-SC or text a tip to "CRIMES" beginning with the term "TIPSC."
